What is a software house — and how is Okie doke different from an agency or a freelancer?
A software house is a team that designs and builds software end to end — not a marketplace of freelancers, and not a traditional agency that hands you a deck. Okie doke is a software house and design studio in one: we take a complex problem and own it from discovery through design, build, and support. Where agencies over-promise and go quiet, and freelancers hand back half-built code, we stay on the hook for the whole thing and give you a working product, not a status report.
How fast can you actually ship — what's included in “first version in a week”?
After a discovery call, a full-stack MVP lands within a week — front end and back end, whether it's an app, a website, or native software — with a proper handover so it's yours to run. “First version” means a working, well-built core of the product you can click through and put in front of real people, not a throwaway prototype. It's the smallest real thing that proves the idea, built to a standard we're happy to keep growing.
What does it cost to work with Okie doke?
The first week — discovery to a working MVP — is a flat $500 USD. That covers the work to get a real, full-stack first version into your hands. If you like where it's heading, the MVP grows into a full project on its own timeline, with costs scoped to what you're building. No retainers to start, and no surprise invoices for week one.
What can you build?
Apps, websites, and native software — plus AI features on top. We take on the complex builds: the ones with real back ends, real data, and real edge cases. If it's a hard software problem you want owned end to end, it's in scope. If you need a quick brochure site, we're probably not the best fit.
What happens after the MVP — do you stay and support it?
Yes. The MVP is the start, not the drop-off. We stay through active development — shipping features, fixing what breaks, and supporting the product as it grows — with a clean handover so your team is never locked out of its own code. Owning it end to end means we don't disappear once the first version is live.
How do you build AI features, and why fine-tuned models?
We ship AI features fast and lean, leaning on fine-tuned and custom models rather than only calling the biggest general-purpose API. That keeps token costs non-linear — they don't balloon as usage grows — and it keeps you in control of the models you depend on instead of renting someone else's black box. You get AI that fits the product and the budget.
